Description:A dry-stone walling class held at Mr. G.L. Stanley’s farm at Dale End, Parwich, Derbyshire. Mr G.L. Maw of Derbyshire Agricultural Institute had organised classes at Alsop en le Dale, Parwich and Brassington in 1936 to try and ensure that dry-stone walling skills survived in the Peak District. The instructors were Mr Albert Redfern of Wetton, Staffordshire (pictured here looking at a cross-section of wall) and Mr S. Handley.
