Description:Stafford Grammar School viewed from the Newport Road. In 1551 King Edward VI in response to a petition from the inhabitants and burgesses of Stafford granted a Charter establishing one Grammar School in the town to be called the Free Grammar School of King Edward VI. The building in this postcard was designed by architect Henry Ward in 1862.
