Description:The 1921 War Memorial in its original Mutton Green location on Anson Street, Rugeley. The Police station (built 1907) is on the left and the Post Office (built in about 1910) is on the right. The memorial site was previously the location of the 1902 Coronation Oak tree which was removed to facilitate the memorial c. 1920/1. The houses on the right date from the late 19th Century.

The memorial was made by Bridgemans of Lichfield and unveiled on 23 January 1921 by the Lord Lieutenant for Staffordshire, the Earl of Dartmouth.
