Description:The Rugeley District 'Cottage' Hospital and Provident Dispensary was built by public subscription in 1871 after the designs of W. A. Bonney C.E. and stood on Brereton Road on land donated by the Earl of Lichfield. The main promoter of the scheme was Mr T.B.Horsfall of Bellamour, Colton. The hospital was demolished c.1990. Briar Hill Care Home now stands on the site.
