Description:A fine postcard view of Rugeley at the junction of Horsefair (right), Elmore Lane (left, in front of the Globe Hotel) and Upper Brook Street (ahead). The fine creeper clad building was Dilger's, House Furnishers and Upholsterers who seem to have moved to this location from other Rugeley premises in about 1913-17. To the right of Dilger's shop lived the Simkins family. Their son Jack became Bishop of Auckland, New Zealand. On a visit to England in 1959 he laid the foundation stone for the Church of The Good Shepherd on the Pear Tree estate.
