Description:A postcard view of Upper Brook Street looking from Brook Square. The shop on the left corner is Pascoe's newsagents and stationers business. They are advertising photographic materials in the window, including postcard views of local scenes. On the right is the Black Horse Hotel, said to have been noted as a good bed and breakfast house. The advertising posters include several for a flower show and sports, and for 'The Silent Man', a Western made in 1917 starring William S. Hart.
