Description:The name Byanna (or, as in the postcard caption, 'Biana') means 'beyond the dean', or out of the town. The Bishops of Lichfield lived here after Eccleshall Castle was destroyed in 1643 during the Civil War. The house dates from the early 17th century but was externally refashioned 1836-1837. In the foreground is a grass tennis court.
