Description:Looking towards Four Crosses on Watling Street near Cannock, now the A5. This view is now virtually unrecognisable as it is now Longford Island. An entrance to the grounds of Longford House is visible in the background. The two-story house is possibly the Black Cock Inn, said to have been established in 1717. Note the early petrol pumps; a large petrol station still dispenses from this location. Standing against the gate pillar of Longford House may be an AA patrolman.
