Description:In 1877 Cannock was divided into the three wards of Cannock, Chadsmoor, and Hednesford under a Local Board which had offices in Church Street from 1880. . The Urban District was established under the Local Government Act of 1894. This building, located at the far end of Church Street near the present Queen's Square area, continued to be used after the new High Green offices were opened in 1927.

Note the children with the perambulator bottom left and two men with fine sets of whiskers to the right.
