Date:1917

Description:These were recreational huts possibly using one of the standard sized spare huts on an available Battalion Line. They were staffed by volunteers and allowed soldiers a relaxing area in which to read a book or a newspaper with a cup of tea. Larger huts were sponsored by religious societies or other benefactors and positioned around the Camp offering additional facilities.

"J" Lines were situated on Tar Hill which is to the left of Chase Road before you descend into Brocton village. Unfortunately the contemporary Camp Plan does not show this hut's exact location.
