Date:1915

Description:Soldiers and no doubt the foreman of the carpenters pose for a photograph with their tools and pet dog. Workmen came from far and wide once the contracts to build the Camps were awarded. Little did some of them know that once the Camps were finished and conscription brought in as volunteer numbers dried up that they would be eligible and called up for service. The stones by the feet of the men will no doubt be whitewashed in the future as can be seen on later images.

It is not possible to identify the location of the photograph but the porch construction on the front of the hut could mean it is the end of one of the horse shelters.
