Date:February 1917

Description:These are predominately young soldiers in training and have a button as a cap badge before being sent as reinforcements to an allocated Regiment. Brocton used to put the Battalion Line letter as well as the number of the hut on the door which must have made it easier to find your way back when you first arrived at Camp. Rugeley Camp seem to have just put the hut number on the door and must have had another way of identifying which Battalion Line you were walking past. These young men would not be allowed to serve abroad until they reach the age of 19 but many did lie about their age and were underage when they went to the Western Front. The postcard isndated February 1917, so most if not all would have seen action.
