Description:Players walking on to the pitch from the Marston Road (west) stand at Stafford Rangers' ground. The match is believed to be the 1952-53 Staffordshire Senior Cup semi-final between Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers. Wolves won 2-0.
The match drew a large crowd as both sides put out strong teams. England international outside-left Les Smith and Welsh goalkeeper Keith Jones played for Aston Villa, and Wolves played their first choice inside-forward line-up of Swinbourne, Pye and Wilshaw.
