Description:A nurse studying basic anatomy at the Nurses' Preliminary Training School on Tithe Barn Road, which opened in December 1950 and occupied a former isolation hospital. The School provided the first three months of training for female and male nurses from the age of 17½ , including bed making, bandaging and other aspects of nursing work. They then went on to complete the rest of their their 3 years' training at Stafford General Infirmary.
