Date:October 1926

Description:On the evening of 18 October 1923 a Scammell lorry belonging to McNamara & Co. Ltd., Royal Mail and general road transport contractors, crashed through the parapet of Radford Bridge into the River Penk 20 feet below. It was on its way from Birmingham to Liverpool, via Cannock. The driver, John Lardner, escaped with a few bruises.
