Description:St. Michael’s Church in Brereton is pictured on this Armitage Pictorial Postcard, with a Christmas and New Year message from the sender written on the right.

This early postcard dates from the first few years of the 20th century. Due to the Postal Regulations at the time it was only possible to write a message on the photograph side of the postcard; in this case in the white space on the right of the picture. The reverse of the card was only for the address. During late 1902 the Postal Regulations changed and it became possible to write a message on the same side of the card as the address.
