Description:This is the view north east along Hot Lane from just beyond the loop Line railway bridge. In the background is the spoil tip of Sneyd Colliery and just visible, the aerial cableway used to move waste across the road to the tip. Just above the factory roof on the right is one of the spoil buckets. Today this is Sneyd Hill Park.

The brick pillar is all that remains of the trackway that carried clay from the old clay pit on the right to the brickworks on the left hand side of the road. Just beyond the pillar are a few old colliery cottages that used to line both sides of Hot Lane.
