Description:The photograph was taken from the rear of Adkins Street and shows the ovens of the Britannia Pottery of A G Richardson. The square building on the left hand edge, with the square chimney in the centre of the picture, is the calcining mill (Dale Mill) in Adkins Street. In between the two is the tower of Christchurch, Cobridge.

A G Richardson manufactured Crown Ducal ware at the Britannia Pottery from 1934. the company previously occupied the Gordon Works in Tunstall.
