Description:Major Hugh Fraser, Conservative candidate, successfully contested the Stafford Constituency in the 1951 General Election.

He is seen standing on High Street with Mrs Swanston (left) and Mrs Carter (right) and their donkey-drawn vehicles, and Mrs Starling seated on a horse to the right. In the background can be seen the petrol pumps belonging to H. Williams' Eccleshall Garage and the Bell Hotel.
