Description:Byrkley Lodge was rebuilt for Hamar Bass of the Bass brewing family between 1887 and 1891 and this Stable block was built at the same time. The Stables had some success in producing successful race horses, including 'Love Wisely' which won the Ascot Gold Cup in 1896. Sir William 'Billy' Bass left Byrkley Lodge in 1952 and the house was demolished shortly afterwards. The Stable buildings survived as a racing horse stud farm until 1992.

Byrkley Lodge's grounds are today the site of the Football Association's St George's Park National Football Centre.
