Description:The Brownhills Tileries belonging to Daniel Platt & Sons. The camera is looking north west from Canal Lane. The clay pit (Etruria Marl) attached to the works lies beyond the factory buildings. A factory making bricks and tiles had existed on the site since the 1820s and Platt's acquired the site in 1896 in order to expand from their cramped Hartshill works. Today the site has been cleared and infilled.
