Description:Looking east along the mineral railway from Chatterley Whitfield toward the entrance of the tunnel under High Lane. The photograph was taken just south of Johnson Place. The tunnel ran under what is now Clement Road.

Chatterley Whitfield Colliery is behind the camera and the line continued through the tunnel, turned south towards Pinnox sidings and onto the Scotia Road sidings in Burslem. The line of the railway is now a path through Monks-Neil Park. The houses beyond the tunnel mouth are in Pitts Hill.
