Description:The camera is looking south west from the bridge over the railway line near Little Heakley Farm. On the extreme right hand edge of the photograph is the top of the spoil tip of Norton Colliery. The factories and industrial buildings in the centre are linked with Global Ceramic Materials and further round is the site of the Buller's, later Allied Insulators, factory. The railway line was opened in 1867, used by passenger trains until 1958 and by freight trains from Cauldon Lowe until 1988.
