Description:This is a view east from Fir Tree Farm over the Ford Green Brook valley towards Chell Heath. Fir Tree Farm is just off Whitfield Road in Ball Green. Running towards the top of the photograph is Cornhill Road. Over 800 houses were built in Chell Heath in the 1920s and 30s.

The embankment across the centre carried the Biddulph Valley branch line from Milton to the south(left) towards Biddulph and Conglerton to the north(to the right). Beyond the fallen tree is the southern edge of the waste tip from Chatterley Whitfield Colliery.
