Description:A carte-de-visite studio portrait of James Meakin (1830-1885), director of the pottery firm J & G Meakin. He bought Darlaston Hall, near Stone,from the Jervis family in 1880. The hall remained in the ownership of the Meakin family until 1951, at which point it was sold and demolished shortly afterwards.
