Description:Looking east along the Caldon Canal from the Stanley Road bridge in Stockton Brook. The lock is the Top Lock (number 9) on the canal, with boats up to 72 feet long and 7 feet wide able to use the canal. The building on the right hand bank of the canal is a old dock warehouse. The much modified building stands today. Visible in the trees beyond the warehouse is the top of the chimney of Stockton Brook Waterworks, further along the canal. The lock is a grade II listed structure.
