Description:This postcard view was taken on the Wedding Day of Hilda Wiles and Ernest Richards, 19 December 1931.
The photograph was taken at 16 Hill Street, Rugeley by T W Heatherley of Rugeley.

Front row (left to right): Richard (Dick) Richards, Mary Richards, Ernest (Ernie) William Richards, Hilda Richards (nee Wiles), Thomas Wiles, Marjorie Wiles and Clara Wiles.

Hilda and Ernie were married at St Augustine’s Church in Rugeley. Over the years Hilda Richards was involved with the Rugeley branch of the WRVS. Dick Richards worked at Brereton Colliery and when his wife Mary died in 1956 he went to live with Hilda and Ernie at the Green, Brereton, he lived there until he died in 1965 at the age of 93. Hilda and Ernie were knocked down on the Brereton Road, Brereton on 2 April 1973 and subsequently died. Dora Wiles was a patient at Yarnfield Hospital in 1928 and in 1930 and died at home at 16 Hill Street, Rugeley on 25 March 1934 of pulmonary TB. The occupation on her death certificate states Stationer’s Assistant. Dora may have worked with relatives at H Pascoe’s, Printers, Newsagents and Stationery Stores, Rugeley. Hilda and Dora were sisters.
