Description:Among those in this group photograph are Hilda Richards who is in her WRVS uniform with the cap just visible (third row from the back near the centre). Hilda is standing immediately behind her in-laws Richard (Dick) William Richards and Mary Richards who lived in Hayes Cottage, Brereton. Dick worked at Brereton Colliery. Mary died in 1956 and Dick went to live with Hilda and Ernie Richards at the Green, Brereton, he lived there until he died in 1965 at the age of 93. Hilda and Ernie were knocked down on the Brereton Road, Brereton on 2 April 1973 and subsequently died. If you recognise anyone else in this view please contact us. The Photographer was T J Jackson, 5 Christine Street, Bucknall, Stoke on Trent and the picture was taken on the steps leading from the gardens to the courtyard buildings at Trentham Gardens. It is thought that this day trip was organised by Rugeley WRVS.
