Date:June 1964

Description:A view north east across the River Trent valley from the Birches Head Road bridge over the Caldon Canal. The buildings in the right centre were Abbey Farm in the 1960s, now Trent Country Club, with Redhills Road leading off to the left. The River Trent flows immediately behind the former farm buildings. Abbey Farm dates from the 18th century but these brick buildings date from the 19th century.

The hay field in the left foreground is now the Abbey Hulton FC ground. In the distance is the higher ground of Carmountside and Baddeley Edge.
