Date:25th of June 1954

Description:Pupils of the Perry School of Dance are pictured on their ‘Swan Lake’ float which is preparing to leave Hagley Park field for a procession through Rugeley.

The Swan was played by D Doran. Other swans were G Simpson, B Tranter, J Crutchley, and E Marshall. Cygnets were S Bull, S Large, K Lycette, M Flaherty, P Whiston and M Hodgkiss.

The Principal of the Perry School was Vivian E Wootton. Tuition included Toe, Tap and Acrobatic dancing. In addition to the Carnival which was held in June 1954 pupils also appeared on 22 and 23 October 1954 in an annual Dancing Display and Variety Concert in Rugeley Town Hall where they performed the Swan Lake Ballet.
