Description:This is a view west from the Whieldon Road area towards the Brookfield Foundry. The main railway line runs in front of the buildings and behind can be seen the floodlight pylons of the original Stoke City FC ground (Victoria Ground).
At the time of the photograph the foundry was occupied by Brookfield Engineering and the Wagon Repair Company.
Locomotives were manufactured on the site from 1892 until Kerr Stuart shut down in 1930.
