Description:This is a view north from the Albion Bridge over the Caldon Canal on Eastwood Road, Hanley. To the left is the Johnson Brothers Hanley Works. Just out of the photograph to the right is another Johnson Brothers pottery, the Trent Sanitary Works. Johnson Brothers were large scale earthenware and sanitary ware manufacturers with five works in the city.
The Hanley Works was fully working by 1900 and was closed in the late 1990s. The Trent Works was closed around 2004. Both works were demolished in 2005 and replaced by housing development.
