Description:The Noah's Ark Inn is reputed to be one of the oldest buildings in Hartshill being built as a coaching inn about 1780 on the main turnpike road between Newcastle and Derby. As well as a watering hole for travellers, the inn was used as an auction house and, in the Second World War, as an air raid shelter. Behind the inn was a bowling green later converted to a car park. The building has been much modified and extended but the original core remains.
