Date:1897

Description:Originally an official issue three pence silver coin of 1887, the obverse would have originally shown Queen Vioctoria's head. This has been removed and an illustration of Stafford's Royal Brine Baths and the date 1897 hand engraved in its place. It was possibly made to celebrate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee.

Three pence token. Silver.
Obverse: engraving of the Royal Brine Baths, Stafford. '1897'.
Reverse: '3' and '1887' surmounted by a crown and surrounded by oak leaves.
