Description:Engraved commemorative stone in the woodland at Hanchurch Hills picnic site.

The Inscription on the stone reads: "The Staffordshire County Council here records its thanks for this land given by the Rt. Hon. Lord Stafford for perpetual enjoyment by the public 1960".

Hanchurch Hills is situated approximately two miles west of Trentham and four miles south of Newcastle-under-Lyme. It is an area of hilly woodland and has a wide network of paths that are popular with both walkers and mountain bikers.
