Description:This photograph of a weightlifting session in the sports hall at Woodhouse High School was taken by Tony Boydon.

Woodhouse High School was built on the site of Woodhouse Farm which was demolished in 1966. The School opened in 1971 and officially opened on 8 June 1973 by Margaret Thatcher M.P. then Secretary of State for Education and Science. The school was Tamworth’s first purpose-built mixed comprehensive high school. In 2007 the school became known as Woodhouse Business and Enterprise College. The Landau Forte Charitable Trust took over the management of the school and in 2010 it became an Academy. The school buildings were demolished and replaced by a new facility which was officially opened by the Duchess of Gloucester on 21 September 2011.
