Date:1938 - 1940 (c.)

Description:The present Wedgwood pottery factory was built 1938 - 1940 on the Barlaston estate, purchased from the Broughton-Adderley family in 1936. The move from the old works at Etruria only took place in 1950, due to the intervention of the Second World War.

A garden village was planned to house workers on their relocation from Etruria to Barlaston.

Due to the outbreak of World War Two only a few houses were completed, and these housed key personnel.
