Description:Consall Station, looking north. The station opened in March 1902 to serve the small rural community at Consall. Note the waiting room on the right overhanging the Caldon Canal. On the left is an earth closet.

The Churnet Valley Line was closed to passenger traffic in 1965. Since 1978 this stretch of the line has been the home of the Churnet Valley Railway and North Staffordshire Railway Museum. During 2002 the station building on the down platform was rebuilt and the up waiting room and platform have also subsequently been restored.

Photograph from the R. Hughes collection.
