Description:Staffordshire Collections Quilt, 2016. This quilt is based on the collections held at Staffordshire County Museum, and was created by local groups under the guidance of local textile artist Jennifer Collier. Curatorial staff showed each group a selection of objects with stories from the collections and Jennifer showed them how to create various embroidery stitches and needlework techniques. Each member of the groups contributed a square to the patchwork and Jennifer then sewed the quilt together. It went on display at the Staffordshire County Museum, Shugborough as part of the museum’s ‘Favourite Things’ exhibition in 2016.

The following groups took part: Berkswich Local History Society, Cannock Chase U3A, Haywood History Society, members of the general public, Shugborough Estate staff and volunteers, Stafford Embroiderer’s Guild, Thomas Alleyne's High School, Uttoxeter Embroiderer’s Guild, and Walton High School.
