Description:The L.D.E.P. factory was built in 1955 with several subsequent extensions. The two and three storey office block at the top of this image dates from 1961; its top storey housed a conference room and cinema.

Ravenhill House can be seen on the right edge of the picture fronting the main Rugeley to Lichfield road. Behind its out buildings an old orchard can be seen which was later converted to alottments. A portion of Ravenhill Park's 440 yard running track can be seen with the end of the 100 yard straight. A football pitch is in the middle of the track.

The housing in the foreground is Beeches Road and was at this time National Coal Board housing. At the top of the picture is Armitage Road with Lea Hall Garage and show rooms fronting the Trent and Mersey canal. To the right of the garage, after the three houses, is the entrance to Lea Hall Colliery with its security gatehouse leading to a modern concrete bridge over the canal. An original canal bridge can be seen to its left. The footpath track between the Brereton and Armitage roads can be seen alongside the hedgeline to the left of the factory. The garage site is a new housing development (2015) whilst the factory site has been cleared awaiting housing construction.
