Description:All Saints' Church, Lapley is all that remains of the Benedictine priory founded here around 1100. The nave, chancel and bottom half of the tower is Norman, and the upper part of the tower is Perpendicular. The chancel was lengthened in the 13th century.


This is one of a series of watercolours of all the churches in Lichfield Diocese in Staffordshire, painted by Miss Theodosia Hinckes and Mrs Rebecca Moore (wife of the Archdeacon of Stafford for Lichfield Cathedral) for Lichfield Cathedral between 1857 and 1861.
