Description:Employees of Lotus Ltd., Stone pictured waiting to start their meal at a works dinner in the Lotus Club. Seated at the table centre right is Miss Christine Williams (wearing glasses and a black dress). On the stage are sprays with blossom and on the tables there are vases of tulips which suggest that it may be springtime.

Lotus was formerly Edwin Bostock's shoe factory, which was on Foregate Street, Stafford. The factory was destroyed by fire in 1901, but was rebuilt on Sandon Road in 1903.

Bostock's became Lotus Ltd. in 1919. The Sandon Road factory was demolished in 1998.
