Date:1905

Description:This postcard of Stone was sent during August 1905 to an address in Portman Square, London. The view looks east across Walton Bridge over the River Trent towards Stone St. Michael's Church. Over the years the bridge has been much altered, remnants of the medieval stone pack horse bridge can still be seen. A new bridge known as Walton Bridge opened in 1984 and the old stone-built bridge continued in use for pedestrians.
