Description:2014 marks the 400 year anniversary since King James I sealed a Royal Charter which established Stafford's Mayoral system.

Pictured is the new Mayor of Stafford (Councillor Ray Sutherland) with fellow dignitaries during the anniversary celebration.

There was a parade through the streets to the Market Square in the town centre, with Servicemen and Servicewomen from the Army, Navy and Air Force marching through the Town exercising their freedom of the Borough. During the event there were Soldiers from the 22 Signal Regiment, based at Beacon Barracks, the RAF Tactical Supply Wing, HMS Collingwood and the 3rd Mercian Regiment (Stafford’s) were represented, Staffordshire Police and the Fire and Rescue Service also joined the Parade.
