Description:Poll books were used to detail who could vote in particular areas to prevent fraud and could also be used to select people for jury duty. During the time period of the poll book less than 10% of the male population had the right to vote until the Reform Act 1832 changed the electoral system and abolished 56 rotten boroughs and decreased the property qualifications, so the new wealthy middle class had voting rights.
