Description:The BT Telecommunications Tower (previously known as the Post Office Tower) stands at Pye Green, near Hednesford. This image is taken from a colour glass negative.

The Tower is 118.3 metres (388 ft.) in height and is one of the few in the United Kingdom built of reinforced concrete. Its elevation and height give it a direct line-of-sight to the BT Tower in Birmingham.

It was constructed as part of the British Cold War "Backbone" radio communications network.
