Description:Jack Frost, made by Stavordale Marionettes and used by Douglas Hayward in his puppet shows. Buster (Cecil) and Madge Stavordale took up puppetry as a hobby and turned professional in 1947. The Stavordales puppets were used to advertise a number of well-known brands, including the Gas Industry and Sharps' Toffees. On television, they were puppeteers on Gerry Anderson's early series "Supercar" and the BBC's "Andy Pandy". In 1964, they re-located from London to Westgate-on-Sea in Kent and performed Summer Seasons at Folkestone Marine Pavilion and local hotels until ill health forced them to retire in 1983. This marionette forms part of the Hayward Puppet Collection, now part of the Staffordshire County Museum collection.
