Description:Ice skater puppet made by Douglas Hayward. Douglas Hayward had already been a touring puppet player from the 1950s when he set up the Marionette Theatre and Puppet Museum at Abbots Bromley in 1975. When the theatre closed in 1993 the collection moved to the Staffordshire County Museum at Shugborough, where Douglas continued to help and advise until his death in December 2011.

This marionette forms part of the Hayward Puppet Collection, now part of the Staffordshire County Museum collection.
