Description:This shop was built in the mid-19th century for R. J. Harris & Son, ironmongers. This image is taken from a glass negative. The shop displays a fine selection of ironmongery, agricultural and household items including brooms, buckets, baskets, lamp oil, chain harrows and milk churns.

Robert John Harris retired in 1939 and about that time the business was taken over by George Blagg who had previously been an apprentice to Harris. Blagg's had a similar shop at Hednesford. The building remains on the corner of Market Square and Market Street and in later years the ground floor has been occupied by various retail enterprises.
