Description:Ferdinand Bode began making and repairing bicycles in the 1910s. Later, some general engineering work was undertaken for local textile firms and the company introduced several innovative technical improvements to textile machinery. At the same time, the original cycle business had developed into a motor garage and main dealer. Bode's engineering closed in 1990 and although the family motor mechanic business is still going, the front of the building is rented out as a shop.
